love this post! i have a similar goal and feel haunted by my ever-growing tbr (a bit of self-sabotage with consumerism). i also just watched nosferatu and loved it too!
I told my self this year I’m going to be doing the same exact thing!! I have so many books on my shelves that I need to get to, and also need to save money this year so it’s a win win! Haha
ah thanks for mentioning something i've been dying to make a post about for ages (ie: getting swept up in constant new releases when some of the best books are probably already sitting on your existing tbr)
last year was such a breakthrough for me when i realised reading the books on my tbr was leading me to more 5 star reads and new favourites over any new release i picked up throughout the year
Tom Lake & Mother in the Dark are two favorite relatively recent reads of mine! & I'm also looking forward to getting to a Brandon Taylor that's been on my physical tbr for a while now-- hope you enjoy!
omg i think you'll love study for obedience
it sounds so strange and i’m into it
Thinking in do the same here!!!! Love you post, inspire me!!!

Tom lake!!! I think you’re going to love that one
it sounds great i don’t know why i haven’t read it yet!!
I love the idea of shopping my bookshelf - something I absolutely need to do more of in 2025.
Also, A Real Pain is amazing!
i’m excited to see it!

i really need someone to just pull me away from the bookshop when i try to go in
Shopping our own bookshelves is definitely something we all need to get better at!

Exciting! I do this with my e-libraries, and I'm always pleasantly surprised (and slightly horrified) by the books I already own.
I loved Tom Lake! Mother in the Dark is on my tbr shelf too
