I mean - January lasted for ever so 8 books isn’t that much? I had a busy month with not a lot of mental space for reading and still managed to read 5 books. What I’m trying to say … it’ll even out by the end of the year :)
My absolute favorite book I read in January was Letters to a Young Poet and I also really enjoyed Do Less by Kate Northrup. I'm reading Martyr now and I enjoy it so far!
I used to be a faster reader. For some reason, as I get older, I seem to have lost that ability; when I read too fast, especially nonfiction, I don’t retain it and always fear that I’ve missed something important.
I miss being able to read fast 🫠
I love the eclectic nature of your book selection!
my goodreads tbr list and library card thanks you for this

Universality was such a disappointment for me, I felt it was soooo surface level.

Cold Enough for Snow is one of my favourite little books 💙 it’s so atmospheric

I’ll definitely be reading some of these, thanks for the insight! Cold Enough to Snow was on my list, but the rest I hadn’t come across.
Thirst Trap in particular sounds intriguing... I live in Belfast and there’s so little (good) literature set here.
